Reports suggest that Google is about to launch the Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a soon. Twitter user Yogesh Brar, who is known for accurate leaks, has shared the expected prices of both phones. The Pixel 7a is likely to cost under $500, while the premium Pixel Fold is expected to be priced under $1,500. The Pixel 7a is anticipated to launch in India, while the Pixel Fold is not expected to be available in the country.
The Pixel 7a is expected to feature a flat display, likely with a 6.3 or 6.1-inch viewing area, and a dual rear camera sensor. The phone is also likely to boast a 90Hz refresh rate and an upgraded 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 sensor. Meanwhile, the Pixel Fold may offer a 5.9-inch viewing area when unfolded, expanding to 7.69 inches. It is likely to feature a custom Android OS designed for folding phones and tablets. Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 4 was launched with Android 12L, but some apps are not yet optimised for the device.
Although the Pixel Fold is not expected to be launched in India, it may set a benchmark for other brands like Xiaomi, Samsung, Vivo, and Oppo. The hinge of the device will be a significant factor in its success. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Fold 4 are water-resistant with an IPX7 rating but do not have an official dust-resistant rating.
